Let's talk about Otis Amps for a minute. We met August, owner and leader of Otis Amps at Winter NAMM 2016. He had just started Otis and if I remember correctly, had just taken the leap of making Otis his fulltime thing. Which is a big and scary thing. Glad he did.
So here we are, out in California, and we're hosting this get together at our buddy Scott's Homebrew Shop in Costa Mesa, Windsor Homebrew Supply Co. We invited people to come and play pedals, make loops and drink beer. It was a good time and later became two episodes of the Coffee and Riffs series. But back to the point. Someone walked in, maybe Wade Beardtone, with this mobile piece of modern furniture. Turns out to be an Otis Amp with a 1x8 Speaker built in. Got thrown into the mix. Some people used it. Most people gawked at how pretty it was. So the next day we stopped by his booth, played the amps and have been sold on August ever since. He's got the brain and taste to make things sound great.
So we've kept in touch and we've gotten some of his amps. From time to time, you may notice them in the videos. This is because they sound great with pedals and are easy to take to location shoots. Plain and simple. Oh, and they look good. Real good.
